This year the Gods of Football are on the hunt to find the sexiest new faces from Rugby League and Aussie Rules - bringing you the best competition ever!
The Gods of Football campaign includes a competition to find the sexiest footballers from both major codes and involves retailing a range of fundraising merchandise aimed at women in aid of The McGrath Foundation. The Foundation raises funds to provide much-needed breast care nurses to support women affected by breast cancer and their families.
The Gods of Football is an evolution of the popular Sexiest Man in League event which has run annually for over 10 years on Channel Nine's Footy Show and News Ltd's Sunday Telegraph newspaper.
We've photographed over 45 of Australia's hottest players and have put their modelling skills to the test through a series of fashion photo-shoots. The players have undertaken a number of modelling tasks to help us decide who will go on to become 'the Contenders' including shooting an underwear campaign for Van Heusen, re-enacting scenes from James Bond, hitting the race track at Oran Park and shooting a Men's skincare campaign for Living Nature. The standout players from these shoots are selected to become one of the 10 'Contenders' for each competition and go into the running for the Sexiest Man in League and the Sexiest Man in Aussie Rules.
The public are invited to vote for their favourite players from the line-up of spunky contenders. The Rugby League player with the most votes will be crowned the Sexiest Man in League and the player with the most votes in Aussie Rules will take out the Sexiest Man in Aussie Rules title. The highest voted players in both codes will join the Gods of Football elite in the Gods of Football calendar. The identities of the Gods of Football will remain a mystery but they include some of your favourites from over the years from the Sexiest Man in League promotion, who are no longer eligible to be involved in the competition.

There will be a range of premium visual Gods of Football merchandise on offer including the artistic calendar due to go on sale internationally in late September. Proceeds from sales of Gods of Football merchandise including the calendar, DVD and range of posters will go on sale internationally to benefit The McGrath Foundation breast cancer charity.
